| History
On February 24, 1954, a group of citizens met in the Allensville Community Hall to organize a volunteer fire department. They elected administrative officers that night. In March the group borrowed money to purchase a fire truck. A resident of Allensville was a salesman for American LaFrance fire apparatus, and knew that Mill Hall, PA had recently bought a new truck and was selling their 1936 American LaFrance Metropolitian fire engine. They bought the engine from Mill Hall for $2,250.00. Equipment was bought for the truck, and a building was constructed at the site of the current fire station to house the truck. The LaFrance's first call was a car fire.
In 1966 a Ford fire engine was purchased, which later became Tanker 25-1. In 1980 the mini-pumper was purchased, and for years was a primary attack piece. In 1990 the FMC engine was purchased, which became the primary attack piece. In 2002 the current brush truck was purchased, which replaced a brush truck from the state. In 2004 the 1966 Ford tanker was replaced by the new 2500 gallon Pierce. Over the years the fire station received additions, and additional pieces of apparatus have rotated in and out of service.
